Twitter and Reddit are like two sides of the same coin in the sense that a lot of these things are a way for people to talk and share their thoughts, interests, and experiences. For example, I went to my first Reddit AMA on the topic of “What my life looked like before I was famous” in 2016 and got over 10,000 reactions. I was able to see it as a source of amusement, which is why I posted it on Reddit.
The other thing that Reddit has that Twitter and Twitter has is the ability to go viral before anyone even knows its existence. As I mentioned above, that’s a good thing because it means that the things posted on these sites are generally noticed by people. That’s one of the reasons why memes are so popular and viral.
The other benefit to Reddit is it being a place where these sorts of memes, and the comments that go along with them, can live on. People like to comment on posts that have been created and posted by others who have more authority than they do, and also because these aren’t all public posts. People post them under the names of people who are famous or famous in general, and also have no idea if their comments are being seen by anyone.
The funny thing is, I think memes have been more popular in recent years.
