With The Anovaeducation Podcast I’ll share my thoughts (both good and bad) about self-awareness, and how it impacts us in our daily lives. The podcast has a focus of improving the way we communicate with ourselves, and what we can do to make that better.
I don’t want to talk too much about self-awareness since I think it’s a very controversial topic. I will however share my thoughts with you on self-awareness. I know we’re all aware that there is a difference between the “self” and “other”. The self is a physical, conscious part of who you are. The other is a non-physical part of who you are, like other people, or other things in the world.
Self-awareness is a cognitive process. While we all have a sense of self, our mental awareness can be more specific. For instance, we all know that we are human. We all know that we are not other people. Self-awareness is the ability to see and identify those differences. For example, if you are in a room, you probably know you are not other people. If you are in a different room, you probably identify with the person in the other room.
When I first started this blog, I was asked by someone to explain what self-awareness is. The explanation I gave was that the word itself has an adjective, self-aware. So self-awareness is the ability to see the difference between what you are, and what you are not. For instance, if you are in a room, you probably know that you are not other people. If you are in a different room, you probably identify with the person in the other room.
Self-awareness is a tricky thing to define. It’s not just knowing what you are, but knowing what you are not. For instance, if you are in a room, you probably know that you don’t know who you are. If you are in a different room, you probably identify with the person in the other room.
The problem is that the majority of people don’t have self-awareness. I am not quite sure how to put it simply but there is a general lack of self-awareness. I mean, in some ways, I’m pretty self-aware, I know who I am. I don’t know who I am or what I am, but I know that I am not. I mean, I’m pretty self-aware of my hair and my eyes, I know I’m not another person.
We have all of these things, but most of us are not self-aware of them because we are not aware of ourselves. We have to be. We have to have self-awareness to realize that we are who we are.
This is why it is so frustrating when you look at a photograph, look at a person, or read a description of a person. Sure, you’re aware of the fact that these people have a certain physical appearance, but you probably don’t know what they are really like. Some people have a specific personality, some personality traits, a certain way of acting, and sometimes even a particular set of habits, but they do not have an identity.
We need to see ourselves for the parts that make us who we are. We can only see ourselves as we are, not as we wish to be, or as we would like to be.
